no harm will come to you

it had been a long, long night.

sleep didn’t come until the early hours of the morning.

lying in bed, thoughts raced through her mind.

images of the swat team with guns drawn came to her over and over.

she felt like she lived in a movie. it was surreal.

finally, she sat up on the side of the bed.

it was real. it had purpose.

she was awake. she was alive.

jesus came and stood next to her as she gazed out the window.

he put a hand on her shoulder and spoke quietly, “no harm will come to you.”

“okay.”

a couple of tears ran down her cheeks.

she took a deep breath, went to the kitchen and made a pot of coffee.

she was awake. she was alive.

she was going to make it.
